Presentation

Resilient40 is a youth-led pan-African organization advancing climate justice, environmental governance, resilience and sustainable development through grassroots action, policy engagement and youth mobilization. Operating across multiple African countries, Resilient40 works to strengthen the participation of young people, women and frontline communities in local, regional and global decision-making processes. The organization coordinates initiatives including Climate Cafés, youth climate dialogues, advocacy campaigns and community resilience programs focused on adaptation, biodiversity, urban sustainability and intergenerational equity. Resilient40 also contributes to continental and international climate policy spaces, amplifying African youth perspectives and promoting inclusive, community-driven solutions to climate and environmental challenges.

Mission

Resilient40’s mission is to empower young people and frontline communities across Africa to drive inclusive climate action, environmental justice and sustainable development through advocacy, capacity building, policy engagement and grassroots mobilization. The organization works to strengthen youth leadership in climate governance while promoting resilience, biodiversity protection, equitable urban development and community-driven solutions to environmental challenges. Its objectives include amplifying African youth voices in regional and global decision-making spaces, fostering intergenerational dialogue, supporting climate adaptation and justice initiatives, and building collaborative networks that advance social equity, sustainability and meaningful participation of marginalized groups, including women and vulnerable communities.

Participation in WSF 2026

Resilient40 seeks to participate in the World Social Forum to strengthen collaboration and solidarity with global social movements advancing climate justice, human rights, environmental sustainability and social equity. The Forum presents an important opportunity to amplify African youth perspectives and frontline community experiences within international discussions on development, governance and global justice. Participation would also enable Resilient40 to share its grassroots initiatives, including Climate Cafés and youth-led climate advocacy, while learning from diverse movements and partners worldwide. Through the Forum, Resilient40 aims to build strategic partnerships, contribute to collective action and advance inclusive, people-centered solutions to interconnected global challenges.
