The Global Sumud Flotilla is an international grassroots movement bringing together activists, civil society organisations and solidarity networks from more than 50 countries to challenge the blockade of Gaza and support the Palestinian people’s struggle for freedom, justice and self-determination. Through flotillas, land convoys, political advocacy and global mobilisation, it advances nonviolent direct action and connects Palestine with wider anti-colonial and liberation struggles.
Mission
The Global Sumud Flotilla’s mission is to mobilise international civil society in support of the Palestinian people’s rights, freedom and self-determination, and to challenge the illegal blockade and isolation of Gaza through nonviolent direct action. Its objectives are to organise flotillas and land-based solidarity missions, deliver humanitarian assistance, strengthen global advocacy and political pressure, defend international law, and build lasting connections between the Palestinian struggle and wider anti-colonial and liberation movements.
Participation in WSF 2026
The Global Sumud Flotilla seeks to participate in the World Social Forum to present its experience in international grassroots mobilisation for Palestine, strengthen links with social movements and civil society organisations, and build new alliances around nonviolent direct action, anti-colonial solidarity and the defence of peoples’ rights. The Forum will also provide an opportunity to exchange strategies, expand participation in future initiatives and connect the Palestinian struggle with other movements for justice and liberation.
