Presentation

The Movement of Christian Workers of Benin, a movement for the apostolate of the working world, was born from former activists of the Young Christian Workers (JTC) and the Young Christian Workers.

Mission

To contribute to the development of the grassroots community in order to enable it to ensure the well-being of the human person in the spirit of the Gospel and with reference to the social teaching of the Catholic Church. To this end, its specific objectives are:
- to promote and support, through mutual aid, initiatives and efforts aimed at improving the living conditions of workers;

- to raise awareness and educate workers to take responsibility in liberating action;

- To promote literacy in national and functional languages;

- To contribute to the training of workers, the unemployed, and informal sector workers;

- To promote the development of the Movement throughout the country.

- To participate in apostolic actions in accordance with the objectives of the Movement.

- To promote justice and social peace;

- - Promote social entrepreneurship among young people and women;

- Defend the rights and responsibilities of children, young people, women, people with disabilities, and senior citizens.

- Contribute to the training of young people and farmers' organizations in specific areas that foster development; - Contribute to community-based civic engagement;

- - Supporting orphaned children, the poor, and the most vulnerable;

- Contributing to environmental development and protection, and combating climate change;

- Promoting the development of tourist sites;

- Promoting decent work;

- - To contribute to improving the incomes of members and eradicating poverty in rural and peri-urban areas;

- To represent or organize the representation of its members within other professional organizations of an economic and social nature in the country, in the sub-region, and internationally;

- To contribute to the reorganization of the informal sector;

- To promote basic education for children, youth, and women;

Participate in experience-sharing workshops; Establish partnerships with other organizations.
