Presentation
The National Platform of Rice Producers of Mali (PNPR) is a professional agricultural organization of an associative, apolitical, and non-denominational nature, possessing legal personality under Malian private law, governed by Law No. 04-038 of August 5, 2004, in the Republic of Mali.
Created on September 3, 2008, under No. 589/G-DB, the PNPR-M federates seven (7) regional branches called Regional Platforms of Rice Producers. These in turn bring together umbrella organizations in 48 production basins with more than 600 grassroots rice organizations of varying sizes and types (federations, cooperative unions, groups, cooperatives, associations, unions, etc.).
Mission
The platform's mission, according to its statutes, is to contribute to the defense of the material and moral interests of its members at the local, national, sub-regional, and international levels through development actions, representation, consultation, training, lobbying, advocacy, and the exchange of experiences. The platform's objective is, on the one hand, to work towards ensuring a decent income for rice farms in Mali and, on the other hand, to provide a framework for consultation, promotion, and capacity building for member organizations, enabling their better participation in defining and implementing sustainable development actions.
