Introducing Defenders Plus: The collective defending Human Rights, "Defenders Plus," was founded on May 3, 2013, following organized discussions on the issue of Human Rights in Haiti and the difficulties in their implementation by state authorities. "Defenders Plus" is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and effective defense of human rights throughout the country, based on the various Conventions and Treaties ratified by the Haitian State. The activities of "Defenders Plus" They specifically address issues related to Civil and Political Rights (CPR), Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ESCR), and specific Human Rights, including those of Women, Children, Persons with Disabilities, and Migrants. The organization "Defenders Plus" is also interested in defending consumer rights, the right of access to natural resources, and environmental rights.
Mission
Mission: Faced with the reign of impunity and the instrumentalization of violence for political ends, and the Haitian state's lack of will to protect the rights recognized for all and to respect its international commitments, "Défenseurs Plus" has set itself the mission of promoting and defending human rights in Haiti in order to achieve a truly democratic rule of law.
Objectives
The objectives pursued by Défenseurs Plus are divided into a main objective and specific objectives.
Its main objective is:
To promote the universal values of human rights.
And its specific objectives
are:
• Combating social exclusion in Haiti
• Advocating for respect for Human Rights
• Promoting the democratic values of the rule of law
Participation in WSF 2026
1- Contribute to international social movements by sharing Haiti's field experience in human rights. 2- Raise awareness of human rights work in Haiti, particularly regarding women's rights and gender-based violence. 3- Actively participate in the Forum's exchange spaces to promote solidarity, civic participation, and democratic values.
