The Association of Tikonna Women's Groups of Boukombé is an organization dedicated to defending and promoting the rights of women, girls, and adolescents. Founded in 2000 in the commune of Boukombé, Atacora department, Benin, it has distinguished itself with its 1,300 women, organized into 89 groups, in the processing of local products from sustainable, environmentally friendly family farming. It is structured into three branches that have grown stronger over the years, becoming hubs for professional processing units and value chains for: (a) fonio and soybeans for Boukombé; (b) rice and fonio for Korontière; and (c) shea and soybeans for Manta.
Mission
The Tikonna Women's Association of Boukombé has the mission to "Contribute to the well-being of women and marginalized groups by strengthening their technical, economic and social capacities and promoting local resources"
