الوصف

This session builds on the documentary screening of Toxic Harvest and brings together panellists from West Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Mauritius to collectively debate these double standards and co-visualise alternatives through a moderated panel discussion followed by an open interactive session.
The session will combine short and critical interventions, concrete examples (projects, policies, programmes), and open exchange with the audience. The objective is not to “denounce for the sake of denouncing,” but to clarify the red lines, political criteria, and alliances needed to avoid the co-option of agroecology and strengthen local, regional, and international struggles. In this connection, the participants will:

Demystify what double standards in food production actually mean for them in different contexts. Examine differential impacts on labour, land, environmental, and climate justice
What are the structural challenges sustaining this system
Explore agroecology as a concrete pathway to food sovereignty
Collectively imagine radical ideas for a just and equitable food world
