Workshop In-person UTC+1 DANS

The Reality of the Humanitarian Situation in the Gaza Strip: From Survival to Self-Determination

Organized by Palestinian Non-Governmental Organizations Network , Mahmoud Hamada , Sabrin Amouri
🔗 Decolonization and sovereignty ✊ Social justice, human rights and gender equality 🕊️ Peace, disarmament and self-determination of peoples

Description

This workshop aims to present an in-depth analysis of the
current humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, framing the ongoing
crisis within the broader context of the Palestinian people’s right to
self-determination. While the blockade and military escalation have
resulted in catastrophic humanitarian consequences, the so-called ceasefire announced on October 2025 was not implemented, more than 1200 were killed from that date.  This session will address the various human rights violations including genocide, starvation and weaponization of aid utilized in the Gaza Strip and argues
that sustainable solutions cannot be achieved through humanitarian aid
alone, real cessation of hostilities and respect of human rights must be prevailed. Discussions will address the intricate link between the denial of
fundamental rights and the deterioration of living conditions,
advocating for a paradigm shift from humanitarian management to
political resolution based on international law and the recognition of
self-determination. Participants will explore strategies for civil
society engagement to advance peace and justice.
