Presentación
The Network Movement for Justice and
Development (NMJD) is a national
human rights–oriented civil society development and advocacy organization that
is present in 12 out of the 18 administrative districts with functional offices
in Bo, Kenema, Makeni, Koidu, Kamakwie with its headquarter office in Freetown.
It is registered with the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development as well
as Corporate Affairs Commission. Since its formation in 1988, NMJD has
as its mandate to engage in
advocacy by strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations and
citizens (rights holders) to effectively engage women, men, children,
communities, government agencies and other actors for the transformation of
society.
NMJD has national coverage and is active in
the promotion and Protection of Human Rights (e.g. right to health, education,
responsible agricultural investment); Natural Resources, and Environmental
Justice; Access to Justice and Legal Empowerment; Gender/Women/ youth
Empowerment; Local Governance and Peace Building; Organizational Learning and Development;
and Civil Society Strengthening for Collaboration and Public Interest Activism.
Misión
The Network Movement for Justice and
Development (NMJD) is a Sierra Leonean civil society organization that engages
in advocacy and strengthens the capacity of civil society organizations and
right holders to effectively engage women, men, children, communities,
government and other actors for the transformation of society.
Participación en el FSM 2026
NMJD will take part by showcasing their work through flyers,
brochures, newsletters, and training manuals. Representatives from NMJD will
also be eager to learn from other partners about how they are addressing
challenges, the strategies and approaches they employ, and the successes they
have achieved. The knowledge gained during the event will be shared with
colleagues back at NMJD and integrated into the various programmes implemented
across districts in Sierra Leone.
