Presentation
The Food Sovereignty Platform brings together 18 Swiss NGOs to promote learning through the sharing of experiences, the recognition of knowledge and know-how held by the partners of these NGOs and nearly 50 other organizations in Africa, food as a human right, its connection with social movements, agroecology as a reflective way of thinking, the production of tools, and advocacy.
Mission
The platform promotes the sharing of experiences and capitalization by organizing workshops in Africa, webinars and by publishing tools for actors in the South to enable them to introduce food sovereignty into their activities.
Participation in WSF 2026
We are organizing three half-day workshops on "The Levers for the Empowerment of Rural Women in Francophone Africa." This workshop aims to revisit and expand upon discussions begun at a workshop last year that brought together 40 people from 8 African countries. We also seek to: - enrich our knowledge with the experiences of new organizations (in Africa and Latin America) through interviews and the exchange of best practices; - explore three new themes: mentoring experiences within organizations to effectively integrate gender considerations into projects; models of inclusive governance (particularly within networks); and women's leadership pathways. We are launching a call for participation.
