Presentation
The GRAMI-AC (Research and Action Group on Migration in Central Africa) is an initiative of Central African civil society organizations involved in supporting populations in the areas of youth and development. Since 2006, they have been monitoring international migration policies, particularly agreements on the joint management of migration flows, the Return Directive, and the European Pact on Immigration and Asylum. This initiative originated with three organizations: the Cameroon Green Youth Association (AJVC), the NGO A World for the Future (1MA), and the Youth Advisory Foundation (FCJ), following their participation in the Citizens' Summit on Migration and Development in Paris in October 2008.
Mission
• Document and publish studies and surveys on the issues, practices, and impacts related to African migration in order to foster dialogue between public authorities, including parliaments, and migrants.
• Demystify the issue of migration and promote the right to free movement while mobilizing its members and public opinion when the right to freedom of movement is threatened worldwide, particularly in Central Africa.
• Provide independent strategic advice to states and national and international organizations through its expert groups.
