Presentation
Building on its actions to tax financial transactions at the time of its creation in 1998, Attac-France situates its struggles within an anti-capitalist and alter-globalist framework for social and environmental justice, to rein in finance, banks, and multinationals, to expand and deepen democracy, and to promote alternatives for the sovereignty of the people.
Attac France is a grassroots education association focused on action. Its means include the production and dissemination of expertise, citizen action, the possibility of taking legal action, and participation in unifying movements. The association, composed of 8,000 members, strives to guarantee freedom and respect for the principle of non-discrimination, democratic functioning, transparency, and equal access for all members to its elected bodies without discrimination of any kind. It is an independent association, with a board of directors elected for 3 years, local committees, a college of founders, a scientific council, thematic spaces, and a team of 11 employees.
Mission
The mission of Attac France is to
