Presentation
The CSC (Confederation of Christian Trade Unions) is one of the main trade union organizations in Belgium. It is historically rooted in the Christian social movement and is based on the values of solidarity, social justice, dignity at work, and democracy. It has approximately 1.6 million members and is active in various sectors, including the public and private sectors. It is an interprofessional trade union organization that represents workers in the private, public and non-profit sectors and acts for the collective and individual defense of social and economic rights. The CSC is a Belgian interprofessional trade union organization that works for social justice, decent work and democracy, in Belgium and internationally, through collective action, social dialogue and solidarity.
Mission
The CSC aims to:
defend workers' rights, wages, and social security;
promote decent, safe, and sustainable work;
fight against inequality, discrimination, and job insecurity;
strengthen social dialogue and economic democracy; and
support an ecologically and socially just transition.
Participation in WSF 2026
The CSC was present at the very first World Social Forum and fully intends to renew its participation in Benin in 2026. As an organization, it will be represented by 11 delegates.
