The
MD movement was founded in 1968 following an appeal signed by various
doctors, researchers, public health workers, and several factory
councils. In the years that followed, the association was
established, which is open not only to healthcare workers but also to
individual citizens and committees.
Mission
Defense
of the National Health Service (NHS) with universal and free access;
the NHS must be funded through the tax system in proportion to
income. Fight against TRIPS and drug patents. Fight against workplace
hazards, accidents, and deaths through stricter workplace safety
legislation. Environmental safety against a development model that
causes pollution and harms health. Commitment to banning asbestos.
Defense of chronically ill people who are not self-sufficient,
workers affected by workplace bullying, and people with disabilities.
Development of social and health services for people with mental
health issues and substance use disorders Defending public
