CNCD 11.11.11

The CNCD 11.11.11, or National Centre for Development Cooperation and International Solidarity, is an umbrella organization of French-speaking Belgian associations committed to fighting inequality, poverty, and exclusion, both in Belgium and around the world. Founded in the 1960s, the CNCD now brings together development NGOs, trade unions, mutual societies, and adult education associations around a common goal: to promote social, climate, and economic justice, and to defend human rights. Its work is based on the conviction that inequality is not inevitable, but the result of political, economic, and social choices that can be transformed collectively.
The CNCD 11.11.11 operates primarily through three complementary levers: raising public awareness, political advocacy, and support for partners in the Global South. In particular, it organizes the annual “11.11.11” campaign, which has become emblematic in Belgium, mobilizing citizens around international causes and raising funds to support projects led by its local partners in Africa, Latin America, and Asia. At the same time, the CNCD engages with Belgian, European, and international political decision-makers to influence public policy on issues such as tax justice, debt, international trade, peace, migration, and climate justice. Through this commitment, the CNCD 11.11.11 positions itself as a major player in international solidarity, advocating a vision of development based on equality, human dignity, and democratic participation.
