Presentation

The unwavering commitment of the Djarra people of Djougou in 2004 led to the creation of this statutory framework. Its primary purpose is to chart, in a way, the path of the multitude that gave rise to the "ROYOM." It is, in every sense, an expression of the vision of a union of the greatest number of Djarra-Diarra-Diawara communities, rooted in the pure African tradition of Aswan, Sudan, Ségou, Benin, Ghana, Niger, Nigeria, as well as all other parts of Africa scattered throughout the world. For the issue in Djougou is serious.

First, Djougou ceased to be called the "Kingdom of TƆZÉHU"; consequently, its relict forest on the Black Island, called "Wangara" in Swahili and therefore "Yom" at the origin of said Kingdom, is also being endlessly ruined. It no longer fulfills its role as a customary center. This relict forest is, however, the place where GBANGBÉOURÉ performs his totemic observances of 90 or even 120 days, through which his mystical and spiritual predominance over the two other Fathers is recognized, with whom he is the guarantor of the elements of peaceful coexistence at the heart of the "Kingdom of TƆZÉHU."

Then, in this Kingdom, the Yom territory
is constantly being eroded, as if forced to disappear along with its civilizational values;

Finally, the DJARRA, the true source of
the Yom ethnic group, to the glory of the "KINGERY OF TƆZÉHU", no longer possess the firmness of their
authority over the vast Yom territory forming the "KINGERY".

In truth, the only thing left to the founding DJARRA is the worship of "SHÉG'HAN," which they still offer on the occasion of the GBANGBÉOURÉ procession to all the communities of the "ROYOM"
even beyond "TƆZÉHU".

The founding members and, following them, the current new generations are indebted to the late Issifou ƉOGO
SENAKPÉRA, the former DJARRA XXXVI, DJARRA Alimatou GATA, HOUSSEIN DJARRA Abdoul Moumine, and DJARRA

HOUSSENI Sadou. These four figures, in the interest of future generations of DJARRA-DIARRA-DIAWARA, were able to find the best foundation, thus establishing the current associative framework. This is the
fruit of their drive in the face of the serious problems of their subjugated condition for their
unlimited freedom on the boulevard of 2004.

Thus was born
the ADRD in the spirit of Law No. 2025-19 of Wednesday, July 22, 2025, relating to associations and foundations in the Republic of Benin, in
harmony with Article 25 (old and new) of the Constitution, Law No.
2019-40 of Thursday, November 7, 2019; which stipulates: “The State recognizes and guarantees, under the conditions set by law, the
freedom of movement, the freedom of association, assembly, procession, and
demonstration.” But above all, the source is found in Chapter 1, Part 1, Article 22.1 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights, adopted on June 18, 1981, in Nairobi, Kenya: "All peoples have the right to their economic, social and cultural development, with strict respect for their freedom and identity, and to the equal enjoyment of the common heritage of humanity."

Mission

The Association of Djougou Natives (ADRD), in its mission, aims, to the extent necessary:

- First, to foster greater awareness in order to revive and promote the adoption by the people of the major concepts that we would like them to use regularly. This is the case with the "Kingdom of Tzehu," which has disappeared due to usage in Djougou, and then "Ttin'hu," which evokes the word "Sahel," recognizing that "Kingdom of Tzehu" is a continuation of "Sahel."

- Next, the establishment of a statutory framework for lineage management, guaranteeing increased mobilization of resources based on age-old wisdom, which unites the DJARRA-DIARRA-DIAWARA of the "ROYOM" and other Yomathan cultural traditions of the world;

- Finally, an assessment of the impact of the relationships established since the creation of the Association of DJARRA Natives of Djougou; in short A.D.R.D., on the Djougou-Ségou-Djougou axis, by an independent firm over the period 2004-2014. To meet these challenges, the Association of DJARRA Natives of Djougou, abbreviated A.D.R.D., has set itself the following objectives:

1-
To define an effective strategy for the efficient rehabilitation of the "Kingdom of TƆZÉHU";

2-
To increase the recognition of the cultural identity and dignity of the people (Yom) whose nature it is to work towards the rehabilitation of the "Kingdom of TƆZÉHU";

3-
Work to raise awareness of the Yom language and its "Yomism," either as an African language or as a derivative of Bantu, Bamana, Bambara, and especially Swahili;

4-
Perpetuate the Zolari festival, defined as the "Yom New Year," the cornerstone and foundation of the "Kingdom of TƆZÉHU";

5-
Create a biennial forum of the DJARRA-DIARRA-DIAWARA for the emergence, development, and promotion of their heritage within the framework of Pan-Africanism;

6-
To ensure and
guarantee the protection and respect for the centuries-old community experience of
pure African tradition;

7-
To convince all
members to adopt and promote the name DJARRA or DIARRA. Etc.
