Presentation
The Community and Sustainable Development Association (CODED) is a civil society organization based in Cameroon that works to promote environmental justice, protect natural resources, and improve the living conditions of local communities.
The organization places communities at the heart of sustainable development solutions by fostering their active participation in natural resource management, defending their rights, and implementing environmentally sound economic initiatives.
Through its actions, CODED supports rural populations and vulnerable groups in strengthening their capacities, promoting sustainable agriculture, and protecting the forest ecosystems of the Congo Basin. The organization also works to strengthen environmental governance by encouraging transparency, citizen participation, and dialogue between communities, public institutions, and economic actors.

Participation in WSF 2026
The participation of Community and Sustainable Development (CODED) in the 2026 World Social Forum represents a crucial opportunity to share the experiences of rural communities in Cameroon facing the challenges of deforestation, land grabbing, and the impacts of climate change. Through its work on the ground, CODED collaborates with producers, rural women, and forest communities to promote sustainable management of natural resources and community-based solutions to the economic pressures threatening the ecosystems of the Congo Basin. CODED's presence at the WSF will not only amplify the voices of these communities in an international forum for dialogue, but also contribute to the exchange of experiences, strengthen alliances with other organizations committed to social and environmental justice, and explore new opportunities for collaboration to support local initiatives for sustainable development.
