Presentation
The Tunisian Association of Democratic Women (ATFD) is a Tunisian non-profit organization that advocates for the promotion of a culture of gender equality at all social, economic, political, cultural, and legal levels.
We campaign against the patriarchal system, against all forms of gender discrimination, and against all forms of violence against women. We also advocate for the development and dissemination of a feminist, secular, and progressive discourse for a Tunisia that respects dignity, freedoms, democracy, equality, and social justice.
Mission
In accordance with human rights texts and declarations, international conventions and more particularly the Convention against All Forms of Discrimination against Women (Copenhagen), ATFD works for: the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women; the defense of acquired rights and the evolution of Tunisian legislation with a view to effective equality between the sexes; the transformation of patriarchal mentalities; women taking charge of their problems and the solidarity struggle for non-discriminatory solutions; the participation of women in civil and political life; the unrestricted recognition of their full citizenship; and the fight against all forms of violence against women.
Participation in WSF 2026
By participating in the World Social Forum (WSF), ATFD seeks to integrate its feminist action into a transnational dynamic of struggles for democracy, equality and social justice, highlighting the voice of Tunisian and Maghreb women in global debates.
