Coalition Gambia Environmental Organization (CGEO) promotes sustainabe management of forest cover and environmental in general including neighboring countries Senegal and Guinea-Bissau. As a community-based organization, CGEO bringing people together to tackle environmental issues, promote sustainable development, and empower local communities to take charge of their own natural resources. There members are like eco-warriors of The Gambia, working with local communities, gov't agencies, and other stakeholders to sustainable African natural resources. Their annual activities are reforestation including adcocacacy against illegal encroachment, over fishing, deforestation and timber trafficking in Senegambia region. In the past years some of our members in Gunjur and Karton villages were arrested and detained.
Mission
The Coalition of Gambia Environmental Organization (CGEO) is a prominent environmental organization in The Gambia, established in 202. Its mission is to sustainably manage the country's biodiversity, marine, and coastal ecosystems, while fighting the rights of local people's interests for sustainable growth. CGEO works with various partners, including NACOFAG, Greening Africa Together, Gambia social Forum the Government of The Gambia, and local communities, to jealous guides our environment.
