Presentation
The OnEstEnsemble association organizes citizen groups to defend their social, economic, and environmental rights through a community-based approach that actively involves them in improving their living and working conditions, starting with their concrete concerns. Door by door, neighborhood by neighborhood, professional organizers systematically meet with residents of disadvantaged areas, informal workers in a particular sector, or users of a public service, ensuring no one is left behind. Starting with the concrete problems they encounter daily, OnEstEnsemble aims to unite them around shared interests and demands. The association relies on community organizing and popular education tools to support the structuring and mobilization of these grassroots groups and to guide them in leading citizen campaigns that result in tangible victories. Investigations, the formulation of concrete demands and innovative solutions, communication to reach the general public, and original non-violent citizen actions to challenge those in power all contribute to creating spaces for dialogue, co-creation, and negotiation, leading to a fairer consideration of the interests of the disadvantaged. Actors usually excluded from decision-making in public and private institutions thus build a capacity to act, enabling them to democratize institutions, guarantee more transparent public action, and ensure greater accountability for public and private decision-makers. The tools and methods of participation particularly encourage the involvement of women, young people, and vulnerable individuals.
