The AMAPECH cooperative was created in April 2022, following the eviction of more than 600 fishermen due to the Marina project. It brings together artisans, fishermen, and market gardeners/farmers displaced by the marina project.
Mission
The AMAPECH cooperative is a means of resilience by improving what remains of our agricultural sector through: - agroecology, - agroforestry, - the preservation of biodiversity (turtles, mangroves), - tourist catering and accommodation (thatched huts) using healthy and traditional products, - tourist circuits to discover the beauty and diversity of nature on the Atlantic coast.
Participation in WSF 2026
Create a self-managed workshop with the displaced people of the marina project by: -comparing local and traditional agro-ecological tourism -and the "tour operator" tourism of the marina project with the support of ATTAC Benin and ATTAC international.
