The Palestinian Medical Relief Society (PMRS) is a Palestinian non-governmental health and social grass-root organization established in 1979. PMRS works to promote equitable access to quality health services, especially for marginalized communities, through a community-based and rights-based approach. PMRS combines service delivery with community empowerment, social accountability, advocacy, and policy engagement to address health inequities and promote social justice and resilience within Palestinian communities.

PMRS MissionPMRS is a leading Palestinian rights-based health PNGO that aims to improve the health, wellbeing and resilience of all Palestinians without discrimination by providing quality primary health care services, mobilizing the community at all levels and advocating for accessible quality health care for all.PMRS VisionPMRS’s vision for the future of Palestine is that of a democratic and pluralistic society in which all Palestinians irrespective of gender and/or background have unrestricted equitable access to quality health care and enjoy social justice and the full benefit of their human, civic, economic and social rights.PMRS believes this future can be achieved via applying a rights based approach to healthcare, and a collective impact model, building a strong civil society and transparent and accountable implementation of concerted quality health and development policies.
Participación en el FSM 2026
PMRS participation in the World Social Forum aims to strengthen global solidarity, exchange knowledge, and highlight the Palestinian experience in promoting the right to health, social justice, and community resilience under challenging contexts.
Through workshops and assemblies, PMRS seeks to shed light on the current Palestinian situation and the daily struggles and challenges faced by Palestinian communities, including the impact on access to health, dignity, social protection, justice, and basic rights, while particularly highlighting the experiences and realities of women, girls, youth, and marginalized groups and addressing the social and health impacts they face. PMRS aims to amplify community voices and connect these realities with global discussions on health equity, gender equality, social justice, human rights, democratization, sovereignty, peace, and self-determination.
PMRS also aims to engage in thematic workshops and assemblies to exchange experiences, share community-based approaches, and contribute to collective discussions on strengthening inclusive health systems, protection mechanisms, and people-centered responses.
The forum will provide an opportunity to build partnerships and strengthen networking with civil society organizations, social movements, and international actors. Through the Palestinian exhibition space, PMRS aims to present advocacy efforts, community initiatives, and the resilience and experiences of Palestinian communities.
