Death and Disappearance at Borders

Refugees and migrants have to risk their lives to reach Europe as the visa regime deny safe routes to travel. Against this background tenthousands of people on the move died and still die at sea, in the desert or in other border zones. Relatives, survivors and supporters have started the transnational CommemorAction network in 2020  for two aims: not to forget, to remember and to commemorate the dead and missing on one hand, but also to protest, to act against the conditions and the responsible politics. In the panel relatives of the missing from various African countries will talk about their suffering and the ignorance of state actors, but also about their efforts to get organized and to struggle for freedom of movement to end the death at borders.
