This
workshop on education for peace forms an integral part of PEACE 2026.
It focuses on examples of education for peace in schools,
universities and communities in Africa. The discussion will be
catalyzed by some two innovative strategies: (1) on slow peace that
has been adopted by teachers at the primary school level in Canada;
and (2) on nonviolence (ahimsa)
pedagogy at the secondary school level. Peacebuilders will share some
of their work on promoting peace among marginalized communities as a
way for young people to discuss how they may overcome obstacles
related to generational poverty, inequality and injustice.
