Recent developments in South Asia deserve a close look, since its democracy movements have played global roles. The Indian movements demanding end of Brittish imperialism and colonialism and the leadership by by M.K. Gandhi can be seen a starting point for a wave of decolonization in Asia and Africa. What is the situation now. How has the authoritarian rule of the present regime impacted the position of minorities and movements.
