Artificial Intelligence and Capitalism: Algorithms of Collapse

The mass deployment of Artificial Intelligence is meant to achieve simultaneous goals: resource grabbing and control, scrapping of public services and the commons, complete overhaul of public narratives and pushing of extreme alienation and attention capture, dismantling of labour power, launching of automated weaponry and a level of surveillance and social control unparalleled in History. AI is the technology used to exert control while the climate is collapsing, although it will itself collapse under the material strain of unbearable heat, fire and drought. Capitalism has elected AI as the next tool to weaken and dismantle labour, to create a new power structure in the world and to repress social and political movements.Much like the climate crisis, all our struggles will all be affected by AI’s Algorithms of Collapse. What then, are our best fighting chances? We will present an overview of AI’s different aspects, it’s deployment in the public sphere around the world, a brief run through the new elites of technological capitalism and finally discuss strategic possibilities to resist, fight back and win against capitalism’s most recent plan.
